The patient was six feet tall and the face was burned from the sun. The eyes were icy blue and the close-cropped hair was graying. He gave a fictitious name and spoke with a German accent, angrily denouncing his old enemies and heaping abuse on the Jews.

The doctor was determined to find out. His search for the truth took him back to the 1930's and the harrowing days of World War 2, to the gas chambers of Auschwitz and the carnage of the Eastern Front. And finally he discovered the crippled German's last awful secret - a secret that led to a shattering climax. Harold Serebro's chilling book is fiction, but it is based on fact.
