The autobiography of G. R. Bozzoli.
He studied electrical engineering at the University of the Witwatersrand.
During World War II he enrolled in the Special Signals Services to develop a radar system for South Africa, and served as a major until the end of the war. He returned to Wits where he became Professor of Electrical Engineering in 1948. During his subsequent three decades at Wits he served as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Deputy Vice Chancellor and then Vice Chancellor. He held the latter position during the turbulent years between 1969 and 1977, when confrontations between the University and the National Party Government were frequent.
