This book takes you to sites related to the remarkable story of the opposition to South Africa's apartheid system, that culminated in the country's transition to non-racial democracy in the early 1990s.

Over the past decade there have been many efforts to commemorate the history of the liberation movement. Among these have been, most importantly, the development of Cape Town's Robben Island Museum, an icon of the Struggle, and a of vibrant tourist industry in Soweto, Johannesburg. Other much-visited sites include the District Six Museum in Cape Town, Constitution Hill in Johannesburg, Freedom Park in Pretoria, and the Nelson Mandela Museum in the Eastern Cape.
